For quite a few years now I have been Challenged by a "Physical Limitation". As I look back, I am almost embarraced at how I have let this "limitation" get the best of me. You know, being a Christ follower and digging in to His Word, I should have all the answers....right???? Wrong! Time after time I will read all of those beautiful passages about courage, rejoicing, steadfastness and perservering and yet there were those times that I was still depressed, discouraged, disappointed and on and on. How do I/we let that happen when we see those words in that amazing book, The Bible? It's not until we take God at His Word and decide "enough is enough"! No more wallowing in self pity(which is right where the enemy wants by the way) its time to be intentional! Intentional about believing Gods word and giving it the power over our lives that it actually has. Romans12:1-2 "Therefore, I urge you, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrafices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.
There it is in a nutshell. That right there is why I have started this Blog. Study this passage verse by verse. When I renew my mind with God's Truth and start intentionaly walking in that truth how can I do anything but have victory. When my mind is right(having overcome discouragement, unmotivation etc.)then my body follows. I can offer my body as a living sacrafice, holy and pleasing to God. Lets think of holy and pleasing as healthy and productive. When we are healthy we can do so much more with a joyful heart and attitude. Then as we become surrendered to God, healthy and productive we can become whole.
That is my goal from today on. You are welcome to join me in my daily pursuit of Spiritual and Physical Fitness. Every morning I will be reading from Crosswalk.Com "Encouragement for Today" and then taking a "Worship Walk". A 30 to 40 minute walk listening to a playlist of Worship Music.
There are 24 hrs in a day. As a Fitness Trainer I can tell you the importance of "MOVING" your body and can you believe that for the last 6 months I have not MOVED. NO More!!! I plan to be intentional with those 24 hrs. Intentional in my prayer life, as a wife, mom, encourager etc. If we commit to just 30 to 40 minutes each day to spend worshiping the LORD while walking our health risks decrease by almost 30%. Are you in??? I will be here with answers to fitness questions, for prayer, nutrition advice and to just hear how its going.
